IAHR_5_S7: Habitatmodelling – a tool for river restoration

Convenor: Christoph Hauer (University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna)

The prediction of the efficiency of restoration measures is essential from both the ecological as well as the economical aspect. Thus, tools are needed which are able to predict but also evaluate mitigation measures designed to improve the quality of aquatic ecosystems. Aim of the special session is to present and discuss various modelling tools, which can be applied for environmental assessment on the river basin scale, including aquatic, semi-aquatic and terrestrial habitats.
