First Call for Abstract Submission
IAHR and the Congress Organising Group invite you to take part in the 40th IAHR World Congress ‘Rivers – Connecting Mountains and Coasts’ to be held in Vienna, Austria, from 21 to 25 August 2023. The Congress aims to provide scientists, engineers, organisations, central and local authorities, companies, and young professionals early in their careers an exciting opportunity to share and discuss recent advances and experiences and identify innovative and emerging trends in hydro-environmental science and engineering. Organized around eight themes (IAHR Vienna 2023 Themes), aiming to provide an integrative and interdisciplinary platform where science, engineering, and societal policy can meet, the Congress will bring together the water science, engineering, and management communities to help address the world’s most pressing water challenges. The 2023 Congress promises to be both exciting and fulfilling for everyone. Your active participation will be the basis of this Congress’ success, and we look forward to receiving your original contributions. We are pleased to announce that the online abstract submission process is now open and accessible here: https://iahrworldcongress.org/abstracts/ where you can also find details about the preliminary program. The abstract submission deadline is extended to the 28 February 2023. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and the Congress International Scientific Committee (ISC) will inform contributors if their abstract has been selected by the beginning of March 2023. Authors who would like to write a full paper for proceedings (not necessary for participating at the conference if not wished by the author) will then have a six week period to submit their full paper, after which they will be reviewed for final acceptance. The 40th IAHR World Congress organizers look forward to your contributions and meeting you all in August 2023 in Vienna. Please contact us at https://iahrworldcongress.org/contact/ should you have any questions regarding the Congress.
Guidelines for your Abstract Submission
Your abstract must be submitted through the Online Submission Form on this webpage. Each author can submit a maximum of 2 abstracts. Please note that only one author can be the presenter. Also note that for the abstract to be included in the congress, the presenting author of each accepted abstract must be fully registered at the indicated time. Your abstract must be inserted in the text box of the Online Submission Form. Your abstract cannot be more than 450 words. Please make sure you select the theme with the subtheme to which your abstract belongs as well as your presenting preference. Please note that the Scientific Committee reserves the right to decide on the final form of the presentation. A submission receipt is automatically sent to the corresponding author right after submission. Should you not receive this email, please contact the Technical Secretariat, so we can make sure your submission went through.
Should your abstract be accepted, you can submit the extended version. Those authors who wish to publish their paper in the conference proceedings can submit their full paper (2-10 pages) after their abstract submission notification until 16 April 2023.
Note: If you attend all three Vienna Water Conferences (combined ticket), the maximum number is increased to a maximum of 3 abstracts.
