Abstracts

We invite you to take part in the Joint Global Conference on “Rivers in a Changing World: Connecting Knowledge and Solutions Across River Basins and Flow Regimes”, which will take place in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, from 13 to 17 September 2027. The conference will bring together scientists, researchers, water professionals, policymakers and other stakeholders from around the world to exchange knowledge, share experiences and discuss current and emerging challenges facing rivers and their basins.

The conference aims to provide an international platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration, addressing the impacts of a changing world on river systems across different basins and flow regimes. Key topics will include, among others, river hydrology and hydrological modelling, climate change and its impacts on river systems, floods and droughts, environmental flows, river basin management, sociohydrological dynamics and managing water resources.

We encourage researchers and practitioners from all relevant disciplines to actively participate and contribute their latest findings, experiences and solutions. All submitted abstracts will undergo a peer-review process, and authors will be informed about the outcome of the review and the acceptance of their contributions following the evaluation.

Abstracts must be submitted through the Online Abstract Submission Form available on this webpage. Each author may submit a maximum of [X] abstracts. Please note that only one author should be designated as the presenting author for each abstract.

Abstracts must be submitted in English and entered directly into the designated text field of the Online Submission Form. Each abstract must not exceed [X] words. Please make sure to select the appropriate conference theme or topic to which your abstract relates, as well as your preferred presentation format (oral or poster).

All submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee through a peer-review process. The Committee reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the acceptance of abstracts and their allocation to oral or poster presentations. Further information on the review process and important dates will be communicated to the corresponding authors.

Please ensure that all required information is provided when submitting your abstract. An automatic confirmation of receipt will be sent to the corresponding author following successful submission. Should you not receive a confirmation email, please contact the Conference Secretariat to verify that your submission has been received successfully.
